Apple has added Always-On Display settings in the freshly released third beta of iOS 16.2 for developers. However, please do not rush to rejoice: only two of them exist.
The first allows you to turn off wallpapers in Always-On Display mode, and the second will enable you to turn off notifications. Everything. Interestingly, the function settings are not translated into Russian. The company added them at the last moment.
A black screen will replace the disabled wallpaper.
Valya Techsuppo complains that Apple hasn’t implemented a timer that automatically turns the feature on and off. However, I don’t understand why it is needed: I set the “Sleep” mode as you like, and the Always-On Display automatically turns off whenever this mode is activated. Moreover, notifications from all applications and people are also turned off, except for the most important contacts. Yes, and in the “Sleep” mode, there are NORMAL alarm clock melodies, not those that will wake the district with their sirens.
But adding a timer to each function is not the Apple way.
Apparently, a full release of iOS 16.2 will take place before the end of the year.
