This year, according to analysts’ forecasts, about 30 million laptops with “mobile” chips will be sold. The growth will be about 7%. In 2024, growth will be 23%, in 2025 – 24%.
The share of Intel, which now owns 70% as the market leader, will decline by more than 10% by 2027.
Last year, the analytical agency Canalys reported that ARM chips in laptops are becoming more popular due to the success of Apple Silicon. The company has proven their superiority and is not going to stop there: the next big step is the transition to a 3-nm process technology, improving autonomy and performance, and the chips will heat up less.
According to insiders, the M3 chip will be manufactured on a 3nm process technology. The first computer with the M3 could be a MacBook Air or iMac, but they will be shown later this year or early next year.
