DJI introduced the 3M drone, equipped with five cameras and multispectral sensors for monitoring the surface in different ranges.
The primary camera is 20 MP from the original Mavic 3, and four additional cameras are 5 MP. The latter can capture light with different wavelengths:
- green (G): 560 nm ± 16 nm;
- red (R): 650 nm ± 16 nm;
- red edge (RE): 730 nm ± 16 nm;
- near-infrared (NIR): 860 nm ± 26 nm.
Another sensor points upwards and stores sunlight data for image processing. The RTK module is responsible for accurate positioning – up to 1 cm horizontally and 1.5 cm vertically.
The drone can fly at an altitude of up to 6 km above sea level and move away from the user by 32 km. One battery is enough for 43 minutes of flight.
How much the drone will cost is unknown. Whether it will go on a free sale is also unclear. The target audience of the new drone is farmers who will use the drone for agricultural work.
