Genesis, the premium sub-brand of Korean auto giant Hyundai, has revealed the exterior of its first station wagon. Meet the Genesis G70 Shooting Brake!
The new car, which will compete with such well-known representatives of the station wagon segment as the Mercedes C-Class Estate, BMW 3 Series Touring, and Audi A4 Avant, is built updated G70 sedan presented in September 2020 and was even able to maintain the same dimensions. Its length is 4,685 mm, width – 1,850 mm, height – 1,400 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,835 mm. Thanks to the modified body shape, the trunk volume was increased by 40% despite the previous dimensions. Additional practicality is added by the folding rear row of seats in a ratio of 40:20:40.
Externally, the station wagon is very similar to the Genesis G70 sedan, differing, in fact, only by a stretched roof, a modified tailgate, and a spoiler that seems to float in the air. And in the cabin, there were no changes at all.
The characteristics of the Genesis G70 Shooting Brake, including the available configurations and the range of motors, are still unknown. The manufacturer promises to disclose this information along with prices closer to the launch of sales, scheduled for the second half of 2021.
By the way, the Genesis brand recently announced its entry into the European market. The first Korean brand cars will appear in European countries this summer. The G80 sedan and the GV80 crossover will go on sale first, followed by the G70 series.
