Six months ago, they talked about the iPhone XR, which, thanks to the efforts of the Chinese, began to resemble the iPhone 13 Pro. Following the spirit of the time, the magicians finalized the case – and here it is, the iPhone 14 Pro, inside the identical iPhone XR. In general, the fate of the iPhone XR is fantastic. When it first came out, it met with a flurry of criticism: there was only one camera, thick bezels, and no OLED. And the price of 65,000 rubles for the 64 GB version at the end of 2018 was more than decent.
But as years passed, and the iPhone XR fell in price, it became a popular and mass device. And now it’s challenging to find a new iPhone XR on sale. The more modern iPhone 11 is much more common. However, you still can’t forget the iPhone XR: it once again became a donor for a strange device. Outwardly, it resembles the latest iPhone 14 Pro, although inside, it is still the identical iPhone XR with A12 Bionic, IPS screen, one camera, and other familiar characteristics.

The box confuses the printing quality and sloppy font, evoking the assumption that there is a fake iPhone inside. The bundle is minimalistic: a clip for a SIM card and a cable, no branded stickers. It is curious that for the iPhone XR, in the case of the iPhone 13 Pro, issues appeared over time! I think that for such a “14 Pro” they will also be available.

If the first craft looked rough and the screen protruding above the surface with smooth curves looked unsightly, now everything has become different.
The display is flat, just like the original. Only exorbitantly wide bezels are embarrassing: knowledgeable people will immediately understand that something is wrong with this iPhone 14 Pro. And the “monobrow” size is too big – “Dynamic Island” could not be entered.
In general, this device does not reach the quality of the original, but we must admit that they seriously worked on the quality of the case. When you slowly and carefully look at the details, you notice that the screws on the sides of the Lightning are located at different heights and do not go in one line.
Again, the SIM card slot is recessed and should be flush with the case. The surface is covered not with glass but with plastic. As seen in the photographs, I noticed that stains remain and are poorly removed. I tried to clean it with microfiber, but it doesn’t take it, although I didn’t stain the device with anything so special.
The side buttons protrude strongly above the surface and are too high relative to the original.
However, this is already nit-picking – it turned out just great for a replica. Moreover, even the block with cameras was made large and solid – out of three cameras, two are fake, but outwardly they are entirely similar to the original.
In size, it is slightly larger than the original, yet the wide screen bezels make themselves felt. But this is if we are talking about a comparison with a real iPhone. If it is not at hand, then the replica can be confused.
New-old iPhone
The example of this outlandish device clearly shows how long iPhones remain relevant. Let me remind you that the iPhone XR appeared at the end of 2018 – but even at the end of 2022, it does not scare you with the speed of work and does not lag. Yes, it is not as enthusiastic as the iPhone 13 or 14 Pro, but such a thing also costs several times less.
The reassembled iPhone XR in a case from the iPhone 14 Pro costs about 20,000 – 25,000 rubles. Everything depends on the greed of the seller. But you need to understand that no one knows what is inside and how long the device will work. However, this is a topic for another reflection.
