Enable guest account in Windows 10

You can enable the guest account through local users and groups, from the user account control, using group policy or you can use the command prompt to enable the guest account If you are a Windows Home Basic user, try to enable the guest account through the command prompt because local user and groups, user account control, and group policy option are not available in this edition.

Note: The following steps are applicable to all Windows 10, 8.1, and Windows 7 computers.

Enable guest account through local users and groups

On the Start menu or in the search box on the taskbar, type Lusrmgr.msc and then press the Enter key to open Local Users and Groups.

To do this, type CMD in the Start menu or in the search box on the taskbar to see Command Prompt in the search results, right-click the Command Prompt entry, and then click Run as administrator option.

Here in the overhead prompt, type the following command and then hit the Enter key to run the command.
guest / active net user: yes

Enable Guest Account in Windows 10 through Group Policy

Note that Group Policy is not part of the Home edition of Windows 10. Therefore, this method does not work in Windows 10 Home Edition.

First open the Group Policy Editor by typing Edit Group Policy in the Start search box or taskbar and then pressing the Enter key. Click Yes if and when you see the UAC message. Now in Group Policy Editor, navigate to the following policy:

Computer Configuration> Windows Settings> Security Settings> Local Policies> Security Options.

Here on the right hand side, find the policy called Accounts. Guest account status and double-click it to open its properties.

Select the Enabled option and then click the Apply button to activate the Guest account in Windows 10.
