Install VLC on Ubuntu 18.04 using Ubuntu Software Center

Still, we recommend that you use the terminal way as that method will ensure that you get the latest version of the VLC media player. However, if entering command lines is too difficult for you, you can install VLC on your Ubuntu via the Ubuntu Software Center.

The Ubuntu Software Center allows you to install software and programs in a more comfortable graphical way, as you are used to in Windows. The software installed using this method may not be the latest version, but it will update automatically.

To install VLC on Ubuntu 18.04 using this method, first, open the Ubuntu Software Center by searching for “software center” on your Ubuntu. In the software center, find VLC and click the button Install to install it. Once installed, you can launch VLC by searching for VLC on your Ubuntu, just like when searching for the software center.
