How to make a transparent background in Paint and Paint 3D

In some situations, you may want to use images with a transparent background. Images with transparent backgrounds crowd each other and your individual task may require images with transparent backgrounds. However, there is absolutely no option to save images with a transparent background. Many Paint users are confused by a choice in the Image Select tool. Here is the transparent selection option that you can turn on and off. Paint users choose this option and expect their stored image to have a transparent background. Unfortunately, this is not correct. The transparent background option only works within Paint and only works on a white background. Paint is the image editor that comes with Windows.

There are two ways to create the desktop from a transparent image. The first method is to cut out a foreground area. The second method involves removing an area from an image. It is possible to add transparent backgrounds to chosen foregrounds with the first paint. But that Windows accessory doesn’t save transparent backgrounds, so you can combine images with layers. As Windows updated, so did MS Paint. But there is a magic thing that MSPaint can do, and that is MS Paint can make a transparent background in Paint and Paint 3D.

Add transparent backgrounds to images with paint

Open Paint and then click then go to File > open and then open the image for this task.

Once the image is open, click the selection button and then click the Transparent selection.

Choose Freeform Selection from the Select menu.

Draw a foreground with the cursor by holding down the left mouse button.

Right click on the rectangle > Select Cut from the menu to remove the selected foreground from the image and Make Background Transparent in Paint.

Press Ctrl + N to create a new image and then press Ctrl + V to paste the image.

Left click on the foreground image and set a background image.
