Complaints from users of the iCloud for Windows application began to appear on the MacRumors forum – the client distorts the downloaded videos.
For example, for one user, the iPhone 14 Pro Max video turned into a black screen with a flickering bar. Perhaps the problem is in the HEVC codec and the activated HDR, which Windows does not recognize correctly.
Corrupted files are unpleasant, but there is a more severe problem: other users’ files are displayed in the media library. Moreover, if you delete the application from your PC, then the files of other users may still appear in your account. How to fix this is unknown.
Apple support says that the bug is not related to security, but the appearance of other people’s files in the media library is not explained in any way. The company did not make a public statement.
