Although developers usually try not to release major releases in the summer, leaving the most delicious for the fall, in 2021, everything is different – there are plenty of AAA projects. Perhaps, the most beautiful game on the video game market is the opportunity to try yourself as a sniper, and even a cool turn-based strategy, which is rarely released now. And also a Japanese project with a fascinating (judging by the description) plot and unique combat, brutal action with melee weapons, and even a game in which you have to hunt monsters. Isn’t that what gamers dream of after months of gaming drought?

The main games of June in one picture

Necromunda: Hired Gun

Even though the authors of this indie first-person shooter promise an interesting storyline with many bright characters, it should be understood that Necromunda: Hired Gun is more about gameplay than drama. The gamer in this project is given the dangerous role of a mercenary, who must track various targets in a huge industrial city, and then destroy them safely (or whatever happens). The player will be rewarded with various values for completing tasks, ranging from resources to equipment, and the opponents themselves will be more dangerous and interesting each time. But it doesn’t end with one shooting.

The main character will have a faithful companion dog, however, robotic. It will also run along the walls, use the grappling hook for vertical movement, and the trunks here are not quite ordinary – the gamer will more often shoot with a laser than with ordinary cartridges. They also promise an exciting upgrade system, cool graphics, and colorful, as far as possible in this setting, locations. Fans of Warhammer 40,000, in the setting of which the game is collected, is highly recommended – there are too many positive qualities of this release, especially for fans of “meat” gameplay.

Necromunda: Hired Gun will be released June 1 on PC (Steam), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X | S.

Sniper ghost warrior contracts 2

The storyline of the currently only sniper shooter is not impressive. Still, the main character, an experienced operative Raven, goes to the fictional Cuamar to overthrow the cruel dictator and his wife. The player must complete the task in five different missions, as a result of which the ruler will be destroyed, and the location in the Middle East will be freed from the pressure from the dictatorship. However, in the gameplay plan, no fundamental changes have occurred in comparison with the first part – the gamer can still play as a sniper, shooting enemies from afar, or taking the machine gun in hand and shooting everyone.

On this, in fact, the gameplay is built – the player has every right to replay the tasks, changing his style. The first time you can shoot from a sniper rifle, watching beautiful slow-motion scenes of a large caliber penetrating the enemy’s head, then you can try stealth mode and kill everyone quietly but already close. For completing certain mini-goals, the player will receive more rewards, and given that there will be a whole sea of cosmetic items this time, this makes at least some sense. The first part will definitely like it; for the rest, it is an affordable ticket to the world of sniper rifles.

Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 will be released on June 4 on PC (Steam), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X | S.

Chivalry 2

The original Chivalry: Medieval Warfare has a sea of fans who love the gameplay’s realism, brutality, and versatility. And in the second part, which received the more modest name Chivalry 2, the developers decided to improve all this so that fans could, with renewed vigor and motivation, go to battle against new opponents. For this, literally, everything was modified – locations, weapons, models and hitboxes of characters, physics of strikes and movements, as well as, unsurprisingly, the mechanics of killing a virtual enemy. And even without some revolutionary changes, this is enough to keep fans happy.

In graphic terms, the second part has grown very noticeably – the lighting is more modern, the characters look more realistic, and the locations become more saturated and detailed. At the same time, the strategy “run – cut – kill” has not gone anywhere so that the battles will be all the same bloody, brutal, and if the player is not particularly experienced, short. And here, you can cut off an enemy’s limb right in battle, pierce it or kill it in a dozen other ways, and they promise to add horses a little later after the release. A prime example that a direct sequel may well be even better than the original.

Chivalry 2 will be released on June 8 on PC (Epic Games Store), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X | S.

Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart

At the time of the announcement of the PlayStation 5 game console, the developers of Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart stated that it was their project that would be able to reveal all the possibilities of the new platform fully. And now, when the action is almost ready for release, we can say with confidence that the team did not lie – the game really looks phenomenally beautiful, fast, and rich. The ability to move between worlds proves that the SSD is installed in the system for a reason. Moreover, many profile journalists and opinion leaders who played the novelty before the release called it the most beautiful game in the industry in absentia.

Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart is a mixture of action and platforming in terms of gameplay – here, you need to move actively, fight, jump over cliffs, and even dodge furious boss attacks. And the developers have also promised (and have already shown in trailers) detailed locations with hundreds or even thousands of secondary elements, thanks to which the protagonist’s travels through virtual worlds cause only delight and a desire to explore each of the locations. The game has only one problem – this project is exclusive to the PlayStation 5, so only happy owners of a scarce new generation game console will be able to play the most beautiful novelty.

Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart will be released on June 11 on PlayStation 5.

Scarlet nexus

Despite the rather unusual setting, Scarlet Nexus attracts attention both with its combat system and an interesting plot – the latter is especially appreciated in the video game market. Together with the screenwriters, the developers will talk about the world of the future, where people began to receive psychic abilities due to the psionic hormone found in the brain. The only problem is that humanity received a terrible headache along with the new opportunities – monsters, who were nicknamed Others, descended to earth. People simply did not manage to cope with them with ordinary weapons. To escape from the bloodthirsty aliens, people had to come up with a new weapon.

And here the gameplay comes into play – in the Scarlet Nexus combat system, there are no familiar weapons like machine guns or swords since instead, the player uses literally everything that comes to hand. You can break, throw, bring down on heads and lift everything around the character literally, so combo attacks and other tricks depend solely on the player’s imagination and desire. Moreover, the main characters of the storyline will be two completely different characters who can boast of their rich history, motivation, and style of destroying hated enemies.

Scarlet Nexus will be released on June 25 on PC (Steam), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X | S.
