Today, May 8, representatives of the LEGO Group officially showed something truly amazing – they have assembled an exact replica of the limited edition Lamborghini Sian FKP 37 sports car from 400,000 LEGO Technic elements. With this, LEGO employees decided to demonstrate that, if desired, absolutely any project can be assembled from LEGO Technic elements, making dreams come true. It is worth recalling that last year the company already presented the Lamborghini Sian FKP 37 from its parts in a 1: 8 scale, but the full-size copy naturally looks much more attractive.
To achieve this, LEGO employees worked with Automobili Lamborghini to recreate the latest supercar from plastic parts to the smallest detail. As a result, the copy from LEGO Technic repeats the original car with millimeter precision – the designers repeated the corporate design of the running lights, headlights and even the exhaust pipes, and in the interior the replica of the car is equipped with a steering wheel with a Lamborghini emblem, a dashboard and even racing seats. Also, when assembling the plastic copy, 154 types of LEGO parts were used (20 were made specifically for this project), some of which were painted with a brush effect.
In total, it took 8660 hours to create the Lamborghini Sian FKP 37 (5370 for design and development, 3290 for assembly) – a team of 15 people was engaged in a phenomenal project who designed the car literally to brick, and then assembled a replica from start to finish. The result is a copy of the car, which weighs 2200 kg and exactly corresponds to the real dimensions of a hybrid sports car. But, unfortunately, the company does not plan to sell a kit for assembling this sports car at home.
