Microsoft Edge won’t play YouTube videos on Windows 10? Here how to fix

    See if the same problem occurs with clean boot mode. If Edge keeps opening and closing unexpectedly in a few seconds, then you can continue with the next steps.

    Clear browser cache

    The accumulated cache and browsing history can also cause your Edge browser (and any other browser) to run slowly. If Microsoft Edge opens but stops working, you can clear your browsing history and cache data to fix the problem.

    • Launch Microsoft Edge. Click on the three-dot button in the upper right corner.
    • Click History and then click Delete history .

    Run the troubleshooter

    Run the Windows Store app’s built-in troubleshooter that automatically detects and fixes problems with the Microsoft Edge browser.

    • Now scroll down and locate the Windows Store
    • Select the Windows Store apps and then click run the troubleshooter,
    • This will begin to diagnose and fix problems that make the Edge browser work normally.
    • Once the diagnostic process is complete, restart your PC and check if the Edge browser works normally.

    Reset Microsoft Edge to default

    If you can’t open Microsoft Edge after an update, or Microsoft edge closes after opening, the application files are probably corrupted and preventing the Edge browser from running. Resetting the browser to its default state will probably help to fix the problem.

    • Press Windows keyboard shortcut + X and select settings,
    • Then click on apps than apps and features,
    • Scroll down and locate Microsoft Edge, click on it,
    • Then click on the Advanced Options link,

    Note : App repair won’t affect anything, but Reset will remove all your browser data. Think before clicking Reset.

  • Click on the repair button first, then open the edge browser and check if this works normally.

  • Repair corrupt system files

    Reinstall the Edge browser

    • Look for PowerShell,
    • Right click on PowerShell and select Run as administrator,
    • When the PowerShell prompt opens, type the following command and press the Enter key to run the same.

    Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers -Name Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$ ($ _. InstallLocation) AppXManifest.xml” -Verbose}

    Once the command is executed, restart your PC and check if there are no more problems with the Edge browser.

    Create a new user account

    Creating a new user account will generate a new edge browser profile and with a new edge profile it will run without any problems.

    • To create a user account in Windows 10, just open the command prompt as an administrator.
    • Then type below the command and hit the Enter key to create a new user account.

    net user% usre name %% password% / add

    Note:% user name% changes your newly created username.
    % password%: enter the password for your newly created user account.
    Ex: net user admin p @ ss / add

    You will receive an output message that the command completed successfully. That means user account created successfully. Now log out of the current user account and log in with the new created user account. Open the Edge browser check working normally without any problem, not responding, etc.

    Adjust registry settings permissions

    Press Windows + R type regedit and press the Enter key.

    This will open the Windows registry editor

    Make a backup of the registry database and then navigate to the following path.

  • Here right click on the folder named » microsoft.microsoftedge_8wekyb3d8bbwe »In the left pane and click Permission.
  • Select the third unknown account (S-1-15-3-3624051433…).
  • You will see that only the read permission is selected. Let’s check “All permissions”.
  • Click OK and close the window.
  • Now restart Windows to save the changes and check that the Edge browser works fine.

    Share printer for local network access

    • To share the printer, open Control Panel -> Hardware -> Device and Printers.
    • Right click on the printer you want to share on the local network, select properties.
    • Under the tab Share check mark Share this printer , you can also edit the name of the shared printer here.
    • Click Additional Drivers and check the x86 box so that the printer can be installed on 64-bit and 32-bit computers.
    • Click OK, apply to save the changes. That is all the printer has successfully shared for local network access.

  • Then use the Windows key + R shortcut again to evoke the Run application.
  • Enter the control / name Microsoft.NetworkAndSharingCenter and click OK.
  • The Network and Sharing Center will open. Once inside, navigate to the left panel and click Change advanced sharing settings.
  • Go to the Network Discovery section. Enable the Enable network discovery option.
  • Check the box next to Enable automatic configuration of network connected devices.
  • Move to file and printer sharing. Check Turn on file and printer sharing.
  • Click the Save Changes button.
    • Now make a note of the PC name or the IP address of the PC where the local printer is installed.
    • To verify the name of the PC, right-click on This PC and select properties. And to annotate the IP address opening command prompt (cmd) and type ipconfig which shows the IP address of your PC.

    Install network shared printer

    Now go to the PC where you are looking to install the shared network printer. Press Windows + R, type PC name or IP address of the PC where the local printer was installed.

    For example, for me on the PC with the IP address my installed printer. I have to use

    When requesting user credentials, use the username and password of the PC (where the printer is installed)

    This will show that the shared items include the printer, right click and select connect.

    The Windows Printer Installation Wizard automatically selects the driver and installs the shared network printer on your PC.
