The functionality of smartphones in the middle price segment has long stepped over the bar of user needs. In my opinion, now everything depends on personal preferences and the lifetime from a single charge. Sometimes, it happens, a smartphone can do everything: it shoots perfectly, launches heavy games, but … it doesn’t even make it to lunch. This problem is especially relevant in the summer when many go on vacation, and carrying a power bank with you everywhere is at least inconvenient. There is a solution, and you will be surprised, straightforward – to increase the size of the built-in battery.
The hero of today’s review Realme C25 not only continues the tradition of the successful Realme C3 and claims to be the new bestseller but also breaks records of autonomy.
Modern design with a unique texture
Immediately after unboxing, the Realme C25 fits comfortably in hand. Despite the impressive dimensions resulting from the 6.5-inch diagonal, the smartphone does not slip out of the hands. In many ways, a comfortable grip is achieved by the unusual texture of the rear panel – it is ribbed and divided into two parts with different directions of the lines.
It’s not only stylish but also comfortable, considering that the fingerprint scanner, on the other hand, is sleek. Moreover, I have no complaints about the speed of its work. In other words, when unlocking practically impossible to miss, it always happens the first time… Compared with the glossy Realme C3, serious progress is noticeable because the novelty is more difficult to stain and scratch.
At the front, the Realme C25 has echoed the formula of its hit predecessor, placing the front-facing camera in an inconspicuous waterdrop notch. The screen-to-body ratio in the smartphone is 89.5% – a decent figure.
The smartphone is solidly assembled – I did not notice creaks and backlashes from the word at all. By the way, the German company TÜV Rheinland also conducted its testing, which awarded the Realme C25 with a quality certificate. This is rarely seen.
The earpiece speaker was placed in a barely noticeable slot, which does not prevent it from being loud enough for comfortable conversations. By the way, I did not forget at Realme and about 3.5mm Mini-Jack for headphones – that’s a nice addition. Another positive thing here is NFC for contactless payment, which for some reason, not all competitors have.
6.5 ” – ideal for movies and games on the go
What I particularly liked about the Realme C25 was the display size. The 6.5-inch screen is on the verge of form factors: it still fits comfortably in hand but already offers more room to absorb content than the competition.
Continuing the theme of summer holidays, which I already touched on initially, Realme C25 will be a great addition for long trips or flights. It is just as pleasant to watch TV shows and stick to games as on a compact tablet on such a screen. I would also like to note the brightness – its peak level is high enough to use your smartphone in the sun comfortably.
I forgot about power banks with a 6000 mAh battery
As I said, one of the key points in smartphones is the battery. Realme C25 has practically no competitors here. All the same 6000 mAh is an impressive figure. If, usually in reviews of devices in this price segment, phrases like “a confident day of work” or “will live until the evening” are heard, then in the case of Realme C25, we can safely talk about two or three days of doing everyday tasks. With 18W fast charging included, what more could you dream of?
The smartphone lasted a record 27 and a half hours, which allowed it to take one of the leading positions in the rating. That, along with the excellent optimization and Smart Night Charge Guardian mode, allows me to confidently say that the Realme C25 is great for those who value battery life.
Returning to the Smart Night Charge Guardian, it is here to slow down charging when the smartphone is almost fully charged. This significantly extends the life of the battery and reduces wear and tear.
In general, Realme C25 allows you to forget about the power bank for yourself and other devices. What am I talking about? The fact is that 6000 mAh is really a lot. For some, even too much. And therefore, nothing prevents you from charging other devices from the Realme C25. For example, I recharged my headphones and camera, but my smartphone didn’t even feel it.
Handles all games and even a little more
At the heart of the smartphone is a powerful bundle of Helio G70 processors and 4 GB of dual-channel LPDDR4x RAM, which produces more than 200,000 points in the popular test AnTuTu… Of course, no problems are withdrawing the interface – the menu, switching between applications, launching the camera, tabs in Chrome – everything works without freezing.
If we talk about more-difficult tasks or rather about games, everything also remains at a decent level. The processor power is more than enough to play at high speed in World of Tanks: Blitz and even PUBG. Here, the game assistant built into the system comes in handy, which closes unnecessary processes and eliminates annoying notifications. The latter, if desired, can be left in the form of a translucent creeping line, which does not distract from the process – I have never seen such a thing before.
48 megapixels to accurately capture the moment
Realme C25 is equipped with three cameras: the main one on 48 megapixels, black and white portrait 2 megapixels, and macro module 2 megapixels. The layout is non-standard but effective, in my opinion. Yes, there is no ultra-wide here, but personally, I am not a fan of low-quality ultra-wide-angle cameras in inexpensive smartphones – less is better but better.
The smartphone successfully copes with the vast majority of scenarios thanks to night mode, AI algorithms, and HDR. If everything is clear with the first, then the work of the second should be noted separately because the photographs lack the areolas around objects inherent in smartphones from other manufacturers. Macro shots, which boast nice bokeh, are also good for the smartphone.
If you need to get even closer to the object and see the texture, you can use the additional camera module – the last two pictures in the gallery were taken with it.
If desired, you can take pictures in full resolution on a 48-megapixel camera – by clicking on the photo above, you can estimate the level of detail yourself. I will only note that the 6000 × 8000 resolution is further higher than 4K TVs.
The 8MP front camera captures crisp images that can be shared on social media. There is also a smart beautification mode using artificial intelligence, which can be turned off if you like a natural picture.
Feedback after 2 weeks of use
Realme C25 is a balanced smartphone that will suit a wide audience. It combines both powerful hardware and stylish design. However, the impressive 6000 mAh battery conquered me in it, which quietly pulls out several days of work and even allows you to charge other devices.
This is exactly what you need in the summer when the extra 300 grams in a backpack in the form of a power bank can interfere with a hike in the mountains or shorten the walk. In my opinion, Realme C25 will definitely be able to repeat the fate of its predecessor, Realme C3, becoming the new “people’s smartphone.” Still, such offers do not often appear on the market.
