Samsung to focus on OLED displays for iPad Pro – Techsuppo

Posted on December 21, 2022

Samsung Display has decided to shift its focus from vertical deposition in its OLED design to horizontal deposition with a half-cut. The reason is financial. If, in the first case, it was necessary to invest a lot of money, then the second method has already been commercialized. This is reported by The Elec.

It is commercialized just with the help of Apple – the company is launching an iPad Pro with an OLED screen in 2024. These tablets and the MacBooks will receive a tandem OLED consisting of two layers.

At the same time, Samsung Display does not refuse OLED with vertical deposition – the company still has orders from ASUS and other PC and peripheral manufacturers.
