Hi all! This is a fresh piece of gaming industry news from the past week. And here you will find a couple of trailers and games that come out next week.
What’s happened?
evil village
Game Informer has shared the new gameplay of the Resident Evil 4 remake. The video is 12 minutes long and was recorded by Capcom employees, so some moments are cut out, but you can still find out a few details from the video. Leon and Ashley need to get out of the church that the locals are breaking into. Journalists tried several times to pass this moment in stealth, but each time an open battle began at the end – most likely, it was intended that way. During the skirmish, enemies can steal Ashley from Leon, and she will have to be rescued.
A merchant also appears in the video, offering weapon upgrades. As in the original, there are caches on the levels from which you can get resources for sale. Interesting innovations have appeared in the inventory: Leon’s case can be customized, it has passive bonuses, as well as a funny keychain that also gives improvements. But the rain in the video looks terrible – the journalists hope that it will be corrected by the release. Resident Evil 4 Remake will release on March 24 on PC, PlayStation and Xbox Series.
Disappointing Survival
Fntastic made good on its promise and released “clean” gameplay of The Day Before, including to prove that the game exists. True, what was shown only increased doubts about the project. For the majority of the 10-minute cutscene, the two players are running somewhere and occasionally shooting at the Infected. Moreover, the characters do not communicate with each other in any way, do not meet other players, and the gameplay simply ends in the middle of the process. At the very beginning of the video, they show the process of customizing weapons and creating items: it can only be done on workbenches. In addition to changing modules, it is possible to disassemble them in order to create others.
Shown players were not impressed: the gameplay looks boring, and the world is empty. A few infected seem to pose no danger to players, the animations of the heroes are similar to the basic ones from Unreal Engine, and the purpose of their journey is not clear. TinyBuild CEO Alex Nichiporchik even offered to buy the rights to The Day Before to “help turn it into a full PvP MMO”. The game is due out on November 10, 2023.
Let me write off
Ubisoft has announced a sequel to The Crew racing game series. The new part was called Motorfest, in which players will go to drive and have fun on the Hawaiian island of Oahu. The map will be divided into several locations: tropical forest, mountain serpentines, sunny beaches and streets of Honolulu. The developers promise hundreds of legendary cars, many routes, themed events and unique challenges. True, judging by the trailer, which does not contain gameplay, The Crew Motorfest decided to copy everything from Forza Horizon even more, including the mechanics of the festival. In the second part, it turned out well, but still we hope that Motorfest will have some kind of its own feature. The game is due out sometime in 2023 on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.
Little things
Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier said that Electronic Arts has canceled a single game in the Apex Legends and Titanfall universe. Many on the network thought that it was about Titanfall 3, because the events of the series take place in the same universe as Apex. But insider Jeff Grubb hastened to reassure the fans – this is not about the third part. In essence, the new game was supposed to become similar to Titanfall, but be part of Apex Legends – much like Call of Duty is now arranged with Modern Warfare II and Warzone. As planned by the developers, the new mode was supposed to teach players to move in a more diverse way – to slide and jump on the walls, and not constantly “walk on the ground”. A small team worked on the game, some of which were fired, and some were transferred to other departments.

Journalist Tom Henderson from his sources told a few details about Dragon Age: Dreadwolf. So, the game has been in development since 2015 and during this time it changed its course several times: at first it was made as a multiplayer project, but then it was remade into a single player one. True, the roots of the multiplayer still remained. According to Henderson, the game is similar to Destiny – there is a central hub where you equip your teammates and go on different adventures through the portal. But the most interesting thing is that the combat system will be closer to the Hack And Slash genre, like in Final Fantasy XV, that is, in real time. Dragon Age: Dreadwolf is far from complete and will most likely not be released this year.
Interestingly, after this news, one of the Reddit users posted an excerpt of the gameplay – he claims that he made a recording during the early alpha:

Hogwarts Legacy (PC, PlayStation, Xbox) is an open-world RPG set in the universe of the famous Harry Potter books. You have to plunge into the life of a student at Hogwarts in the 1800s. Go to classes, brew potions, explore the locations around the castle and take part in a variety of adventures. But remember that evil does not sleep and, as usual, is going to capture and destroy everything, and without you no one will defeat it and the world will not be saved.
That’s all, see you next week!
