The fifth beta of iOS 16.1 is out – Techsuppo

Posted on October 12, 2022

Apple has released the fifth beta version of iOS 16.1. The system is available for developers and public testers.

The new version has bug fixes and improved overall stability. No innovations were observed.

In iOS 16.1, Apple has updated the battery percentage indicator – it has become dynamic. The icon animation either fills up or shrinks. Also, the display of the percentage of charge became available for iPhone XR, 11, 12 minis, and newer.

Another new feature is the gray border highlighting Dynamic Island on the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max. “Island” will be highlighted using a dark theme or wallpaper.

With iPadOS’s 16.1, Stage Manager mode became available on iPad Pro with A12X and A12Z chips. But Stage Manager support when using an external monitor, on the contrary, was removed – it will appear in future updates.

The final version of iOS 16.1 will likely be released simultaneously with iPadOS 16.1 and macOS Ventura, which will be released later this month. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the systems will be downloaded on October 24th.
