Studio Ubisoft has shared plans for the development of The Division franchise. According to the team, Tom Clancy’s The Division: Heartland will be free to play in 2021-2022. It will be available on PC, PlayStation and Xbox consoles and cloud gaming services. As assured by Ubisoft, it will be a separate game in a new setting, not related to the events of the previous parts.
The upcoming title for The Division is developed by Red Storm Entertainment, which previously created the original Tom Clancy’s The Division, its second installment and two Far Cry games.
A mobile game based on The Division is also under development. More detailed information about the project and terms is not yet available.
As previously announced, additional content will be added to the already released The Division 2. The update will include a new game mode and an updated level detection system. The studio will reveal more details at the end of 2021.
Ubisoft has decided not to limit itself to games and therefore, together with Netflix, is preparing a film inspired by the events of the original The Division. It is already known that Jessica Chastain and Jake Gyllenhaal will take part in the film.
