Yesterday, March 15, Volkswagen officially unveiled the concept electric car ID. 2all, which was the result of work on the bugs after the announcement of ID. life. The manufacturer fixed problems with the body, redid some design elements and showed the vehicle on an electric power plant, which should become popular – for this, the company promises to reduce the cost of the vehicle so that literally anyone can afford it. To do this, the car was created in a body that vaguely resembles Golf and Polo – the company even announced that other cars of the brand will be assembled on the basis of the body of this concept in the future.
On the front side ID. 2all, you can see a very simple “muzzle” – of course, there is no radiator grille, but there are running lights that are extended along the entire bumper, a company logo and a gray decorative insert. It looks extremely simple, but recognizable and understandable. The door pattern is probably taken from the manufacturer’s new generations of Golf, while, quite interestingly, they decided to implement the door handle only on the front doors, while on the rear doors it simply does not exist – there are already similar solutions on the automotive market, but they are implemented differently. At the back, the vehicle has absolutely recognizable brake lights, so the appearance of the people’s electric car is really familiar to Volkswagen.
In salon ID. 2all, a potential buyer will find a rather stylish and modern steering wheel, two displays (one is responsible for the dashboard, and the second for the multimedia system), interior lighting and a decent set of hardware controls. Of course, no one will use leather or wood here, so the interior design is presented in a rather austere style with an abundance of gray and black plastic, fabric and matte finish panels. Particularly interesting are the seats, which in their shape even remotely resemble the “ladles” from racing vehicles. On the other hand, no one knows what the interior design will look like if the manufacturer shows the base model – there will probably be no backlighting and many bonuses.
This electric car was built on the proprietary MEB Entry platform, which will probably provide front-wheel drive and pretty good performance. For example, the company said that the concept presented at the event will receive 226 horsepower, a range of 450 kilometers, support for fast charging technology (from 10% to 80% in 20 minutes), acceleration from standstill to hundreds in less than seven seconds. and a top speed of 160 km/h. It’s just the perfect city car to drive to work, shopping and meetings. In the basic configuration, it will be sold for less than 25 thousand euros, but the production model will appear only in 2025, and by then the price may be adjusted.
