Palmer Lucky, the founder of Oculus, now owned by Meta (recognized as a terrorist organization on the territory of the Russian Federation), created a VR headset: the device kills the player if he loses the Game.
Lucky was inspired by ideas from Sword Art Online, in which players also died from VR headsets if they lost the Game. True, the implementation there is slightly different: SAO helmets were equipped with a powerful microwave emitter, and Lucky installed three explosives. They are triggered if a photo sensor inside the headset detects a flashing red color, the Game Over splash screen in the Game.
Fortunately, no one tested the helmet, and it will never go on sale – the helmet will forever remain the prototype and decoration of the office.
