What will be shown at two autumn presentations of Apple – Techsuppo

Posted on September 1, 2022

In the fall of 2022, Apple will hold two presentations. The first will take place in September. This is reported by Mark Gurman in his weekly Power On column. at Bloomberg.

September presentation

The highlight of the September event should, of course, be new iPhones. These are four new models: iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max. All smartphones will come in two sizes: 6.1 inches (iPhone 14 and 14 Pro) and 6.7 inches (14 Max and 14 Pro Max).

The main innovation will be the absence of “mono-brows” in the “prosh.” Instead, these iPhones will get pill screens:

But ordinary models will not get almost anything new. Even the hardware will be identical to the iPhone 13 / 13 mini. However, like the older models, the 14 and 14 Max will receive an updated LTPO display panel that will allow for the Always-On Display. But whether the basic versions will update the image on the screen at a frequency of up to 120 Hz is unknown. Added at least 90, and there would be happiness.

It is reported that the starting price for the base iPhone 14 will not change compared to the iPhone 13 and will be $799 before state taxes.

Other novelties will be three new Apple Watch models at once. And if the Series 8 and new SEs don’t surprise anyone and differ from previous models only in a temperature sensor, then something will still change.

In countries where LTE versions of the watch are sold, you can order watches in steel and titanium cases. Until the fifth generation, there were still ceramic Apple Watches. These models were called the Apple Watch Edition and were about twice as expensive as regular versions.

According to Mark Gurman, the Apple Watch Edition will be replaced by the Apple Watch Pro (the name is inaccurate). It will be a more oversized watch than other models, with longer battery life and more robust protection.

Apple Watch Pro will get a titanium case, a 7% larger display, and a higher price. Their design will also change, but what exactly it will be is unknown. Mark Gurman only reports that it will be “an evolution of the current rectangular shape.” So you should not expect flat edges and a round shape.

Mr. Gurman does not name the date, but I dare to assume that this presentation will take place on September 13th. Ultimately, the date may differ as Apple has recently begun to change its approach to public events.

Second presentation

This presentation will focus on the iPad and the new Macs. And if those who want something unique from the Apple Watch seem to get nothing, then future buyers of the basic iPad will have something to profit from. The fact is that the tablet will receive a design similar to the iPad Air and iPad mini:

A protruding camera, Touch ID on the power button, and the lack of a 3.5mm headphone jack. Whether it will get stereo speakers is a mystery.

The tablet will run on the Apple A14, similar to the first iPad Air in a similar design. However, the screen will be slightly smaller. What else will be the differences is unknown.

They can also update the iPad Pro – from the date of the presentation of the latest model by October, a year and a half will pass, which has become a standard step between the two generations. However, he disappeared from the field of view of insiders, and it is difficult to say what exactly will please Apple users. According to 9to5Mac, an Apple M2 system-on-a-chip and reverse wireless charging will be hidden under the company’s glass bullseye logo.

We are also waiting for several new poppies at once. Most likely, these will be Mac mini and updated versions of the MacBook Pro in 14- and 16-inch versions. Probably, the Mac mini will receive not only the basic version of the M2 but will also boast the M2 Pro system-on-a-chip. This will make the nettop an excellent solution for home and office.

In addition, Apple plans a 27-inch iMac Pro, but whether it will be shown this year is unknown. Personally, something tells me that Apple will make it more powerful than the MacBook Pro on the M2 Max. That is, we should expect a version of the M2 Ultra. But this is just my guess, based on studying the Apple product line for about five years. However, if I’m right, the release of the M2 Ultra is unlikely to take place before 2023.

And we are waiting for the new second-generation AirPods Pro. Apparently, they will receive a speaker built into the case, which will only be needed to search for this case.

The second presentation will likely occur either on October 25 or 1. We will only know the exact date a week before the event.
