The home folder contains a list of application shortcuts that run automatically every time you start your computer. You can add programs by adding their shortcuts to the folder so that it runs during Windows 10 startup. You can also remove any of them if you don’t want it to run during startup.
Home folder location in Windows 10 for all users
Here’s how to go to all users home folder in Windows 10.
- Open the File Browser from the start menu.
- Navigate to the following directory.
C: ProgramData Microsoft Windows MenĂº Inicio Programas Inicio
- Note that the directory above assumes that your default Windows was installed on the C: drive. If your Windows is on another drive, change the drive letter.
- Add or remove the shortcut of any program in or from the folder.
Another much faster way to go to the start folder in Windows 10:
- Go to the start menu and type Run . Hit enter.
- In the Open field, type shell: common start and then press Enter.
Home folder in Windows 10 for current user only
If you want to configure startup only for the currently logged in user, here you should go to:
- Open the File Browser .
- Navigate to the following folder.
C: Usuarios Nombre de usuario AppData Roaming Microsoft Windows MenĂº Inicio Programas Inicio
- Replace the name of Username with the actual username that you are currently using on your Windows 10 system.
- Add or remove any shortcut you want.
Fastest method to go to this folder:
- Go to the start menu and type Run . Hit enter.
- Scribe shell: start in the open field and press Enter.
Configure Windows 10 startup from Msconfig
The exe shortcuts of all applications in the above mentioned startup folder will not be displayed. Some would not be there, but would continue to run during startup. To have a clearer view of all the background programs and services that would be running during the start of his computer with Windows 10 , use msconfig .
- Go to Start, then Run .
- Scribe msconfig and press enter.
- In the System Settings window, go to the tab Beginning .
- Click on the link Open task manager .
- The programs displayed in the startup list are all the programs that would run during startup.
