You cannot transfer Metro Exodus saves from PS4 to PS5 (you can on Xbox)

Today, June 18, 4A Games studio officially announced Metro Exodus on next-gen consoles – PS5 and Xbox Series X | S owners can play with more attractive lighting, textures, and instant loading locations. However, it was not without unpleasant news – it turned out that gamers cannot transfer their saves from PS4 to PS5 since this function does not exist. Instead, the developers will allow PS5 owners to launch the game from any chapter with a standard set of resources and equipment.

The same function is available to owners of Xbox Series X | S – they can also start the game from any chapter, even if they did not go beyond the introduction on the previous console. But, on the other hand, on this platform, there is a save transfer function – gamers can start passing on the nextgen from the last open chapter. No intermediate saves are available, unfortunately, but it’s still much nicer than on PS5.
