Video hosting YouTube has removed the official channel of Pornhub. This is reported by Variety.
According to information provided by YouTube, the channel was removed due to multiple violations of the community rules. The point is the links indicated under the channel’s commercials. This is a hint that the links were porn.
However, MindGeek, which owns Pornhub, denies the blame:
Pornhub maintains the highest standards of trust and security on the internet. We take great care not to violate any of the YouTube Community Guidelines. Unfortunately, this is just the latest example of discrimination against adult industry workers.
Actors and sex workers are marginalized groups. They use social media to connect with fans, earn money, and support themselves and their families. YouTube’s indiscriminate and arbitrary enforcement of its policy towards Pornhub and those associated with the adult industry is dangerous and harmful. We demand that social media companies treat us the same as everyone else.
MindGeek
YouTube is not the first service that refused to work and support the work of Pornhub. So, in September, Instagram (which belongs to Meta, recognized as an extremist in the Russian Federation) permanently blocked the account of a porn site. And Mastercard and Visa refused to work with the site back in 2020. All because MindGeek was sued for allegedly distributing child pornography. The lawsuit identified payment systems that help distribute illegal content.
What was on the Pornhub YouTube channel?
Oddly enough, nothing that people go directly to Pornhub for. At the beginning of covid, they published videos of a beautiful project about the benefits of washing hands – both before watching videos and in general. There were also interviews with actresses, tips for independent and novice models, and the section “Literacy of Pornhub.”
